Just a quick Sunday post. Last night I met up with some of the Bloggers around Toronto at C’est What. Wonderful people, very welcoming, and some great beer talk. It did not take me long to realize I have a lot to learn about beer!
Thank you to Mike @ayearofbeer for organizing the event.
Please check out their excellent blogs:
Beers I had last night:
Steve’s Dreaded Chocolate Orange
Black Oak Nutcracker Porter
If you are like me and spend a several hours a day sitting in traffic, you probably tune-in to a terrestrial radio station. My go-to station in the mornings and evenings is 102.1 The Edge. While the Edge may not appeal to everyone, beer enthusiasts may want to check out Fearless Fred from 2-7pm. Fred features what he calls “The Beer Break” every Friday with well-known Toronto beer blogger Chris Schryer from The Toronto Beer Blog. Chris brings in a new beer every week and discusses the particulars of the beer, followed by a tasting. Last week they featured Muskoka Brewery’s Double Chocolate Rainbow Stout.
Fearless has a good sense of humour and I find this segment rather enjoyable. I think this kind of exposure is great for the craft brewers. The Edge has such a large listener base it will undoubtably spark people’s curiosity to go out and try a bottle themselves.
Fearless Fred has been hosting the afternoon drives since August 2009. You can check out his profile page and blog at edge.ca. Fred is an avid comic book fan, who not only reads but also writes his own comics! You can find his comics at BigSexyComics.
Please pay a visit Chris’s blog at http://www.torontobeerblog.com/. Chris describes himself as “ardent supporter of beer” and posts regular updates on the happenings in the beer world, beer reviews, and events.

On Tap today: Great Canadian Beer Blog
If I had a one-stop-shop for beer blogs I think Troy Burtch and his Great Canadian Beer Blog would be it. According to his website, Troy started his blog in 2007 for his own interests and to keep tabs on all of the local pubs he visits. It has certainly evolved beyond that! He is now Director for Sales and Marketing at TAPS The Beer Magazine, co-founder of Toronto Beer Week, and involved in organizing the Canadian Brewing Awards.
Turning a passion into a career is certainly something we all aspire to do!
His blog features profiles on many of the pubs around the Toronto area (and beyond), news, events, links to breweries around Canada, as well as links to many blogs in the community.
